Abstract
This book exists then, as we said, because it could quite simply not exist and that, difficult as it is to explain now that it is in print, can also be interpreted simply, that is to say, there are various reasons for it, specific causes which turn the possible into reality, among which the most obvious: because many illustrious writers and artists condescended to contribute – tangentially, as befitting of more subtle commentators to João Maria Gusmão’s and Pedro Paiva’s exhibition Abyssology: for a transitory science of the indiscernible.
